Romans
When the projected visit to Rome had taken definite shape in Paul’s mind, he immediately concerned himself with preparations for the journey. One very important preliminary step was the writing of a care-fully-worded letter, which was then dispatched to Rome. Metaphysically, Rome represents the head, in contrast to Jerusalem, which represents the heart. The head is the seat of our dominating personal will, and also of our intellect; to the outer human, these are the seat of all strength and power. The Romans represent a Consciousness of dominating will and intellect.
